This year’s theme is Creating a vision for a clear tomorrow.
We look forward to sharing with you our vibrant Exhibition Hall, where you can reconnect with industry partners to explore the latest treatment options and medical devices available.
Beautiful Quebec City is steeped in history, culture, and art. Its historical sites include the Château Frontenac hotel, which dates to the late 19th century. A must-see attraction! NB: The top priority of the COS for the 2023 Annual Meeting and Exhibition is to create a safe environment for all who choose to participate. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the COS will work in conjunction with the Centre des congrés de Québec to ensure we follow the most up-to-date local health and safety protocols. Currently Québec public health does recommend their continued use. The COS is strongly recommending masks be worn in all indoor areas, particularly when you will be in close proximity to others. Due to the projected number of delegates, all participant microphones and webcams will be disabled during the plenary sessions (unless presenting)
Delegates will be able to send questions at any time to the faculty via a Chat window

Case Presentations
All participants are encouraged to submit a medical or surgical case study to be considered for inclusion in the program
If the number of submitted cases exceeds the allotted meeting time, a limited number of cases will be selected by the Co-chairs for presentation
Each case comprises 5 minutes of presentation followed by 5 minutes of discussion with faculty and participants
Case topics and titles should be provided when registering
In the event that the case title is not known when registering, this information must be provided by October 20 to Edna Dynka of SNELL Medical at [email protected]
A SNELL associate will follow up with all registrants regarding their case and, as necessary, technical requirements for presenting
In order to prevent technical issues during RCCC 2021, all final case slides must be provided to Edna Dynka by October 27 at 5:00 PM EDT
During the RCCC 2021 meeting, participants will present their cases using the Share Screen function on Zoom
Sponsor Presentations
Qualifying sponsors will deliver 5-minute presentations during the RCCC program
Sponsor presentations will be interspersed throughout the meeting, introduced by a Co-chair, and clearly delineated as not part of the scientific program

Sponsor Breakout Rooms
All sponsors will have a private Breakout Room that delegates may visit during the lunch break
A Sponsor Breakout Room is a separate virtual meeting room where sponsors may present information on their companies, products or services through slides, video and/or live discussion with delegates
For the entire plenary session, delegates will have their mics and video cams disabled, however, for the Sponsor Breakout Rooms, if preferred, these can be activated to simulate a more in-person experience with all attendees visible and able to speak amongst themselves and the sponsor representatives, presenter, etc.
Delegates will have the flexibility to navigate in and out of Breakout Rooms of their choice during the lunch break
After the lunch break, all delegates will be redirected back to the Plenary Session Room, and their webcams and mics will be disengaged

After registering, registrants will receive:
- An instant confirmation email with a link to the meeting
- 24 hours and 1 hour before RCCC 2021, reminder emails with a link to the meeting
- To join the meeting on October 30, registrants will click on the link and follow the onscreen prompts

8. While Gore-tex suture has several advantages for use in scleral-sutured IOLs, it must be adequately buried in the sclera to prevent erosion.
9. 5-0 polypropylene fixation using the Canabrava double-flanged technique is a good option for re-fixating lenses and avoids several of the pitfalls of sutured IOLs.
10. Re-fixation of a pre-existing lens requires familiarity and comfort with all different approaches to secondary IOLs and complex anterior segment surgery.

Program Description:
The 52nd Sally Letson Symposium will consist of a full-day virtual program focused on clinical and surgical pearls in ophthalmology, with applications to both general and subspecialty practice. Part One of the program will review key concepts pertaining to cataract surgery, including preoperative planning and IOL selection, management of comorbidities presenting with cataract, intraoperative techniques applicable to standard and challenging cases, and postoperative management; as well as an overview of current technologies in the field of refractive surgery. Part Two of the program will cover high-yield subspecialty topics in Oculoplastics, Cornea and External Disease, Glaucoma, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Retina/Uveitis, and Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, highlighting key points relevant to the comprehensive ophthalmology practice. Guest speakers will include an esteemed cohort of experts in the vanguard of their respective fields who will guide attendees through current best practices in the diagnosis and management of important “conditions not to miss”. Special sessions will also be dedicated to physician well-being and prevention of burnout, aiming to empower healthcare workers with effective tools to better care for themselves and their patients. Multiple high-yield educational formats, including didactic lectures, panel discussions, and case-based presentations, will be employed in a virtual environment that will encourage audience interaction and foster critical thinking.
Target Audience:
This symposium is designed for attendance by ophthalmologists, ophthalmology fellows and residents, optometrists, medical students, technicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals.

- Describe and learn to put into practice tools for self-healing and prevention of burnout
- Describe key considerations to be addressed during cataract surgery planning, and employ strategies for preventing and managing complications of cataract surgery
